How Do You Get to the Beach?

Walk into Road Town (5 min). Cane Garden Bay is 20 min by taxi ($15) over the mountain. Ferry to Virgin Gorda's Baths is 30 min ($30-40 return).

What Can You Do in 6 Hours?

  1. Cane Garden Bay — White sand crescent with palm trees and beach bars. Myett's serves Painkillers on the sand.

  2. Ferry to Virgin Gorda — Explore The Baths boulder caves. Allow 4-5 hours for the round trip.

  3. Road Town — BVI capital. Old Government House Museum, Botanical Gardens, and waterfront restaurants.

  4. Sage Mountain — Highest point in the BVI. Short rainforest hike with island views.

Where Should You Eat?

Painkiller: BVI's signature — Pusser's Rum, coconut, pineapple, orange juice, and nutmeg.

Roti: Flatbread with curried chicken or goat. The go-to BVI lunch.

Is Tortola Worth Exploring Independently?

Cane Garden Bay is a simple taxi ride. Virgin Gorda ferry is straightforward. Ship excursions charge double for what you can arrange yourself.
